In 1811, a New Yorker was sentenced to 3 months in prison and fined $500 (about $12,000 today) for publicly insulting Jesus and Mary. The judge said only attacks on Christianity were punishable.

Much has changed since then but it wasn’t until 1952 that the Supreme Court ruled blasphemy was protected speech.

Elon Musk, Tesla and Warner Bros. are being sued by one of the production companies behind "Blade Runner 2049." Alcon Entertainment said it refused permission for Tesla to use an image from the movie at the Robotaxi launch event, but the car manufacturer used AI to do it anyway. Alcon is working on a spinoff series for Amazon and has been in discussions with car manufacturers about collaborations, but has avoided Tesla because of Musk's “extreme political and social views” and his “massively amplified, highly politicized, capricious and arbitrary behavior, which sometimes veers into hate speech.” Here's more from @AssociatedPress

Singer Jaguar Wright's made allegations against the power couple during a recent appearance on Morgan's "Uncensored" show. Yesterday, Morgan said he had received a lawyer's letter that demanded the claims be cut from the segment, and went on to apologize for what was said. Jay-Z and Beyoncé's lawyer told TMZ: “There’s rumors and then there’s nonsense, and this is one step further." Here's more from @Deadline.
