Hey y'all, I'm a machine learning researcher and I'm considering trying to build a neural network that predicts price surges, especially in volatile altcoins. Has this been done before?

I'm thinking of doing it as an LSTM model, which is a type of recurrent neural network for deep learning in time-series data. It would make short-to-medium term predictions based solely on price, by considering price history, futures price history, and trading volume.

I strongly suspect that this strategy can work because of how inherently price-speculatuve the crypto market is. Many people (myself included) make trading decisions primarily based on price.

Thoughts?

Hi all

Not to be pessimistic. Looking at the big players, most have been in the space for at least 3-5 years when the market was the wild wild west when good profit was made and big sharks have been buying cheap and long standing DCA. even if we have entered since last year via dca, how much maximum is the ROI? Let's assume 1-5x.

Yet our margin is low, so even if it's 10x, it's still nothing compared to those whales.

I wanna give up and stop being stressed mentally but i still have some faith that i will make something so i can be the king of my life.

Don't know 🙄

I think this has not happened until now.

Surely they have some provisions in place like insurance? Have they clarified?

Unless I'm mistaken, you can track each individual Bitcoin on the blockchain right? So would this mean that some Bitcoin could have more value than others to a collector? For example, the first/last bitcoin mined in an epoch, some bitcoin used in a historic transaction, or maybe a Bitcoin from one of those Casascius coins, whatever the case may be. Those specific Bitcoin were involved with something that makes them even more unique than the average Bitcoin. What do you guys think?

Original Title: Gypstacks, Florida's Potential Environmental Nightmare, Part I. Gypstacks, a huge environmental issue that isn't being addressed. Every couple of years they come in the public consciousness by spilling thousands of gallons of polluted water and creating a fish kill.
