Everybody probably knows this but for those who dont the flippening is a theory where ETH surpasses BTC in market cap. Lots of people believe this is technically possible - But for this to happen some indicators have got to be in Ethereums favor

EIP-4844 - proto-danksharding - dropped transaction costs and boosted Layer 2s potential to scale. Arbitrum, Optimism and recently even Base are getting more volume and all of this will make Ethereum dominate decentralized exchanges - It could double its current DEX volume relative to the mainnet

Following up on the Layer 2 topic - Ethereum keeps growing through its Layer 2 chains. Its possible that Layer 2s can handle more value and transactions than the mainnet in the future - But wouldnt that have a negative impact on the mainnet?

All things considering Bitcoin is still the favorite of institutional investors even though Ethereum has dominance in Defi and NFTs. ETH has outperformed BTC in terms of price growth in some cycles and it can probably do it agan - But long term not sure if it can actually flip BTC so I would like to read some insights. Not trying to attract maxis from either side - Just here to learn and read different opinions

Nearly 3 years ago I made a free tool for r/cryptocurrency to get live crypto rates into Google Sheets and Excel, without needing to use Javascript and without any rate limits.

This service is still going strong and I've made some big improvements recently:

  • Includes the data for the top 5000 coins by 24-hour volume.
  • Prices are now updated every 5 minutes.
  • I have added API access so you can use this in any application; it doesn't need to be only in Google Sheets / Excel.
  • All-time high and low have been added to the dataset along with some other useful columns.
  • And most importantly: no rate limits! You can fetch from this service as much as you like. I make heavy use of Cloudflare's free caching functionality, so the load on my server is very minimal. Cloudflare does the heavy lifting for me.

To get any rate into Google Sheets is as simple as copying and pasting this formula; for example to get the rate of PancakeSwap:

=QUERY(IMPORTDATA("https://cryptorates.ai/files/standard.csv",
",", "en_US"), "SELECT Col3 WHERE Col1 = 'CAKE'", 0)

Just change CAKE to the coin of your choice or use a cell reference.

If you want you can reference a rate directly like this, however the above method is better for multiple rates: =IMPORTDATA("https://cryptorates.ai/v1/price/BTC")

You can see in this animation how once you've fetched the rate for one coin, all the other coins will have their rate instantly appear without any "Loading…" text:

Adding multiple rates animation

These of course can be converted to any currency; for example to get PancakeSwap in Euro (EUR):

=QUERY(IMPORTDATA("https://cryptorates.ai/files/standard.csv", ",", "en_US"),
"SELECT Col3 WHERE Col1 = 'BTC'", 0) * GOOGLEFINANCE("USDEUR")

If you want to track the rates of a lot of coins, it's best to use the VLOOKUP method to make things even faster.

I have also done a lot of work on the documentation, so please let me know if anything is unclear or you get stuck anywhere. Docs are here: https://cryptorates.ai/

In the full dataset you have access to these columns:

| Field | Description | |

|

| | Symbol | Crypto ticker/symbol | | Name | Name | | Rank | The global rank of this coin by Market Cap | | Price USD | Current price in USD | | Volume 24h | Global trading volume in USD over the last 24 hours | | Market cap | Market cap according to CoinMarketCap's methodology | | Supply | Current supply in circulation | | Change 24h | The price change over the last 24 hours (1% change would be returned as 0.01) | | Change 7d | The price change over the last 7 days (1% change would be returned as 0.01) | | ATH | The all-time high price | | ATH date | The all-time high date in Unix time (in seconds) | | ATL | The all-time low price | | ATL date | The all-time low date in Unix time (in seconds) |

CipSoft, the developer of the classic MMORPG Tibia, has announced an upcoming feature that introduces Tibia Tokens (TIB), a new digital token for trading in-game currency. Tibia, launched in 1997, is one of the longest-running online multiplayer games.

Tibia Tokens (TIB) can be obtained by converting Tibia Coins, an in-game currency, through the Tibia Token Exchange. Built on the BNB Smart Chain and following the ERC20 standard, Tibia Tokens are compatible with many digital wallets, like MetaMask and applications. This feature opens up a unique opportunity for Tibia players to engage with blockchain technology, blending the lines between virtual and real-world economies.

While Tibia may not have the massive player count of games like World of Warcraft, it has maintained a dedicated player base with around 10,000 to 20,000 daily active players. Therefore, this might indicate an important step for the gaming and cryptocurrency industries, showing the potential of game economies to integrate with digital asset platforms.

From what I just understood, new bitcoins will be completely unavailable to obtain after 2040. If there is a finite amount that is known to be possibly owned and it all can be accounted for, and it can be publicly known who holds “x” amount, does that eliminate the illusion of power forever across the world’s governments?

Does the amount to be “known” to be owned by Satoshi create an illusion that the market can be saturated at any time and the world turned upside down at a moments notice, thus preventing future Cold War-like peacocking-confrontations based off “current” knowledge of the market availability of the currency?

I recently got into the crypto market and saw many coins like this, thinking I could just buy low and quickly sell during the peak and make a good profit. However, when I tried to sell I got this message saying I will lose 94% of the value if I try to swap, basically selling for the same price as I bought it for. I think this has to do with the coin's low liquidity, I tried Coinbase Wallet, Uniswap and Metamask with no luck. Are all these coins that have short, high peaks a scam?

Hi folks, Before last week, my portfolio had 20% of other ALT coins such as Solona, Avax etc.

But last week, I moved everything to BTC since there are lot of reports claiming that transaction in Solana is essentially fake and made up with bots. While meme coin narrative is good, I was not comfortable with 15% of my portfolio in alt coin.

Right now, 100% of my portfolio is in BTC. I consolidated pretty much everything to BTC. I will maybe have 10% in ETc but I am not sure about any other coins in my opinion.

Thoughts on this

Has anyone ever been involved with a site call digitaledgeivest.org? Went over with an invite from sycrypto on X. Spent $1000 to do copy trading, which I've done on etoro before so didn't think much of it. After the 2weeks of trading it seemed I made a tidy profit. But to get this profit I need to pay the commission fee, which I knew about, out of my own money and not the profit before they released the profits to me. Straight up I called them a scam and didn't pay obviously. Anyone else been on this site?

I know it may sound stupid for anybody that has watched those videos on YouTube where they’re “teaching” you how to do it but never get the actual profit.

Yes, Im drawn to the topic because with the illusion of “easy money”, but I actually think that it might work for some reason. Also, almost everything people are attracted to in the market is because it looks like easy money in the begging. After some time they realize it’s not so easy, but doable. This is what Im trying to reach here.

Id love to hear from anybody with an experience on the subject
