I recently had to buy merchandise from overseas and between conversion fees and wire fees, I spent over 10% of the total sum in fees. Oh yeah, it also took a WEEK to get there.

It would have been as expensive as buying / sending ether but it takes 150 times longer. Outrageous.

This hit me hard, as with crypto you can send it all over the world with very little overhead, so I thought, what would it take for businesses to accept crypto ?

The only bottleneck I could think of would be the CEX's, as it happens often that they freeze accounts on a whim etc. But if the CEX is just used as a transition platform, this effect would be pretty mitigated, right ?

So, what would be the hold-back for a business to put that in place ? As far as I understand, there shouldn't be any regulatory issues since it would be the same as buying/selling merchandise trough Tradfi, but there would just be the CEX middleman.

AI-related cryptocurrencies are experiencing significant inflows due to the hype surrounding artificial intelligence. While many crypto projects in this space still need to demonstrate a valid use case, their valuations are increasingly stretched, something we saw during the metaverse hype.

Many of these tokens are valued at billions in market cap despite having no real users, reminds me of the metaverse land craze that featured projects with just 20 active users yet sky high valuations.

Every day, many millions of dollars worth of crypto is tainted, primarily by governments flagging it for coming from or passing through a wallet identified as being involved with criminality (scams, theft, drugs, tax evasion, etc). If this crypto is sent to a regulated exchange, they will generally freeze and eventually seize it.

Down the line, this crypto is either returned to the victim, or siezed and auctioned by the relevant government. In both cases, the crypto is then un-tainted, and "clean" again. The laundry cycle is complete.

Does anyone know if there's some sort of federated chain analysis out there that shows how much of each is happening by day? Id imagine the pool of tainted crypto is growing as a percentage of the total, but curious how fast, and by what coins.
