What number would be enough for you to be able to stop chasing large gains and just live off the money you've made?

For me that would be either just over US$ 1 million in cash or whatever it takes to generate a passive monthly income of $2900.00

I could actually do it for half that and still be comfortable, but I figure having twice what I need would be nice.

With that much I could easily leave money for my nephews when I die (Not that they will need it).

Of course the answer depends on where you live, whether you have a family, how old you are and a lot of other factors. But it seems a lot of people have insanely high hopes that most will never come close to reaching.

Here is a novel idea (?) inspired by recent discussions around strategic reserves/stockpiles.

Let's say you wanted, as a nation, to have a strategic stockpile of sound money, and everyone thought it was a good idea and had the money, or the state ability to take up credit, to afford it ...

... you could have it in a decentralized form.

Kind of like every adult in Switzerland that's been to military service, is issued a rifle to keep safe at home, for readiness, in case an emergency national military response is required.

Every adult in a country or whatever governmental region one might choose, could be issued sound monetary units of crypto to addresses of their own (the citizens hold the private keys). They hold these coins as a form of distributed state treasury, and for safekeeping / "break in case of emergency" use. They could also together vote on how to spend them collectively.

It wouldn't be anywhere near as beneficial to an economy as cryptocurrency in actual circulation, fulfilling the role of money ...

... but since it would be an open ledger, the society could check that those coins "kept safe" by the holders and would not move without wider consensus (e.g. decentralized digital vote on spending them somehow in the "national interest" according to laws of the country).

If they did move out of order, the society could pursue sanctions against wrongdoers.

For example, not allocate future coins to them - perhaps for some duration - so that effectively, they would lose ability to "vote with their portion of the state's funds" on national interest matters.

They could of course still privately use cryptocurrency to vote with their wallets in other affairs.

Sound money crypto + decentralized stockpile + digital voting on national spending.

There may be many reasons this might not work, but I thought it was an interesting showerthought, and possible discussion.

I'm in NY and was able to transfer TRX to my Kraken account but it's still pending?

Basically I've always known trx to be untradeable in NY but for some reason today I was able to rwasnger about $700 out of my tron wallet and to Kraken. The funds have exited my wallet and completed but are still pending in Kraken. Since I'm in NY can they even return the trade to me? Do they have to write me a check? I'm not sure why it was allowed to complete but all the hash and checks say it was completed but Kraken says pending. I opened a support ticket that was escalated but I'm wondering if anything similar has happened to anyone else?

Antigua and Barbuda stands out as an exceptional choice for cryptocurrency investors seeking citizenship. The country’s welcoming stance towards digital assets allows investors to use cryptocurrency gains as proof of funds for citizenship applications. Additionally, Antigua offers a tax-friendly environment, with no personal income or capital gains taxes, making it particularly attractive for crypto investors.

Citizenship in Antigua and Barbuda grants access to over 150 countries visa-free, enhancing global mobility for digital entrepreneurs. With its progressive approach to cryptocurrencies and the support of specialized firms like Harvey Law Group, investors can navigate the citizenship process efficiently and effectively, positioning themselves for success in the global digital economy.

The Fed just cut interest rates by another quarter percent, citing expectations of rising inflation as Trump returns to office. The stock market took a dive, and crypto followed. Bitcoin is down to $99k as I write this.

This raises a fundamental problem: crypto markets are supposed to be independent of traditional finance. The whole promise of decentralization is that these markets should stand apart from the chaos of fiat systems.

But instead, we see the same patterns: when stocks fall, crypto often does too. Is this a flaw in how the market operates, or just a reflection of how much institutional money has entered the space?

What’s your take on this? Is there a solution, or will crypto always be tied to fiat market sentiment?

Nvidia and Intel just announced this and we are caring about memecoin transaction volumes?

https://markets.ft.com/data/announce/detail?dockey=600-202412181600BIZWIRE_USPRX____20241218_BW897420-1

This system will be utilizing Hedera Consensus Service (HBAR). Check the whitepaper and https://www.eqtylab.io/blog/verifiable-compute-and-hedera

Why are we celebrating 60 or something million memecoin-transactions when this might be the biggest thing to happen in crypto since the inception of bitcoin?

Why is 'crypto media' so thoroughly useless?

I'm new to this whole Web3 scene on telegram, and I'm seeing a ton of bots on Telegram that give you millions of tokens for doing stuff.like "tabizoo," "mana," and "santasol." It all seems a bit too good to be true Can I actually withdraw these tokens? Do they have any value in the real world? I'm not talking about those TON tokens you get from inviting friends, but these other in-game tokens. It's awesome to rack up millions of tokens , but whether they have any value outside the thing is the deal, can we actually trade them on exchanges?

I've only invest in the market via DCA and DYSOR.

However my couple of my mates have been sharing me lots of video such as this below due to the recent crypto rally.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-JofREAyOc&ab_channel=CryptoDaily

Now I can tell from a glance that this is a god damn scam, the comment section is literally filled with bots, and this is way too good to be true.

However i'm not tech savvy enough to explain to my mates how this is a scam they still skeptical and wanting to give it a try, I'll need someone to point out why it is an obvious scam, there's no way this shit works and I don't want my mates to fall for it.
