I am trying to figure out what my main loadout should be in BF2042. I've done research, but there is little information from the past 2 weeks about loadouts so that research sessions have come inconclusive. So, I am going to resort to you guys.

First, what specialist should I play? I am an aggressive player who focuses on the objective, but this game has a lot of focus on teamwork and not mindlessly running around killing people. So, I kinda feel useless because I push an objective, die and repeat for the whole game. I want to bring some team value. In Apex Legends I play Bloodhound because of their tracking ability that gives the team information on where to find enemy players. (I hope this information helps) Then what are the best gadgets for this specialist and their playstyle? (Or does it come down to personal preference?)

Next, what are the meta weapons and attachments for that weapon right now. I know the G57 is the best secondary because of the burst attachment. But I can't decide on which primary I should use as I am not in tune with all the meta discussions.

Thank you!

Seems like cluster accuracy has dropped considerably.

I've tried:

  • purely holding afterburners while chasing
  • slowing down while chasing

and when they get behind me I tried:

  • looping side ways - pure after burner/breaking
  • looping vertically - pure after burner/breaking

Tried looking for tips elsewhere (youtube, reddit) but there doesn't seem to be a 100% working advice against these players.

Hi everybody!

Some friends of mine and me were trying to get back into 2042 over the weekend, however they had a bit of trouble with the game since it's very CPU-bottlenecked on their computer.

Now I did a bit of research and came up with the following user.cfg to alleviate the issues at least a bit:

Thread.ProcessorCount XX

Thread.MaxProcessorCount XX

Thread.MinFreeProcessorCount 0

Thread.JobThreadPriority 0

GstRender.Thread.MaxProcessorCount YY

PerfOverlay.DrawFps 1

Whereas X would be cores and Y threads of the cpu.

Now my Problem is: On two machines this .cfg works flawlessly, but on the third one the game just wouldn't launch. Just a black (non- maximized) window will popup, close again, and that's it.

I tried deleting parts of the user.cfg and could figure out it was due to the

"Thread.MaxProcessorCount" line, with this added the game just won't start.

I'm just curious if anyone had any experience with this argument or any idea why this specific line won't let the game boot?

I have this problem happen very often. Almost every match and often after about 5-10 min of play.

It also happens with Lin's guided RPG. After I fire the RPG the camera switch to somewhere under the character instead of being in the nose of the rocket.

It all happens at the same time.

So I know if the RPG is acting up, all vehicles will also have wrong camera positions.

Helis are way down under terrain looking up. But in this camera state the heli won't crash. So I have to exit the vehicle and then the camera is back at correct position, following the falling character.

I have only found one other person on the EA forum with same issue and the advice was to disable cross platform play.

I have disabled cross platform with no effect.

I only play Coop with AI on PC.

Any other advice? The game is unplayable in this state.

Hi all.

I bought the game at its release but got very frustrated because of the size map, low player number/density, OP vehicles, sniper paradise... I guess you remember. So I tossed it.

I'm (very) old school player from BF3-BF4, good squad player and I was thinking to give 2042 another chance. So... some questions:

  • Is it worth it?

  • Any infantry focused map?

  • Is there any similar class to classic medic? (assault with rev capabilities)

  • Any extra advice for an absolute noob?

Thanks!

Hi guys,

Do weapon, gear, and character tier progress reset every season or not? I'm a little confused because season 5 is about to end and I'm grinding to make sure I get the tier 1 skin for Casper.

I know that the battle pass level resets every season but is that the only thing?

I'm a medic main and something that's super annoying that mainly only happens in 2042 is that teammates will just back out when I'm standing over them charging my defibrillators. I'll even have smokes on them, have them pinged, and be just about to revive them and they'll just give up like 50% of the time. Why even wait when you're downed if you're just going to back out when someone tries to revive you.

This even happens with people that have requested a revive. It just wastes my smokes and removes the teammate I could have had for backup when the smoke clears.

Like at least when they quit right when they get downed, I'm not running to them and throwing smokes but why do they wait until I'm about to revive to quit? It's super annoying

Playing after 2 months, took like an hour to brush up on my skills and play the way I used too but has the EMKV-TOR been nerfed? Can’t hit anything beyond 300m… no matter how far or near i lead my shots… or if even on a stationary target and my crosshair is in the dead center, im still missing. Anyone else?

Has anyone here that plays on console ever encountered a input delay while playing? I mainly play on ps5 but ever since this season I can feel my aim is delayed plus I get random input when playing or no input at all at times.

Played a ton of BF 4 and BF1 and over time I was able to feel super comfortable with aiming and sensitivity and all that. I rarely ever changed the settings

Now, after maybe 10 hours of 2042 and tweaking stuff, nothing feels right. This is legitimately the only FPS where I don’t feel comfortable in 1 on 1 gunfights. The aim just feels so loose and jumpy. Any advice

For a game that’s meant to be popular again and player base returning I spend half my day in the waiting screen. Just wanna play some breakthrough.

It seemed pretty okay beforehand, but now it feels like maybe the worst LMG. While most vault weapons have improved it definitely feels like there's one or two that have been victimized instead.
