Welcome!

Many large instances have been struggling to deal with the big increase in users from Reddit.

Therefor I wanted to setup this server to divide the load. I also really like hosting and managing a server, so I thought it was perfect for me

About endlesstalk.org

endlesstalk.org is intended to be a serious long-term instance!

Rules and info can be found in the sidebar.

Technical setup

  • Have been built with redundancy and recoverability in mind
  • Database and images are backed up every 2 hours, so there is always a fallback.
  • Servers for endlesstalk.org are runing in the clould and I strive to get the best mix between stability and pricing.

If you decide to join, let me know of any issues or improvements at issues and improvements

Lastly I would appreciate any donation to cover the server costs. At the moment, its not really needed, but I would appreciate it regardless.

In Mark Gurman's latest report he claims Apple is "considering" making the upcoming non-Pro Vision headset "reliant on a tethered Mac or iPhone". […] But at closer inspection, there are a number of reasons this probably couldn't work, and it's simply a bad idea even if it could. […]

The real issue is that devices without a cooling fan like smartphones cannot sustain their peak performance for more than a few dozen minutes at the absolute most. […]

Even if this problem could be magically solved by some future cooling system, an iPhone's battery is three times smaller than the battery attached to Apple Vision Pro, which weighs almost twice as much as an iPhone.

I recently noticed when I received a login alert from a service provider, that @bravebrowser does not spoof the Operating System. That can, depending on your OS, enhance finger-printing and be a dead giveaway. #BraveBrowser. There definitely needs to be an option to manually or automatically spoof the OS.

The Russian division of the Bank of China has suspended operations with Russian lenders sanctioned by the United States in order to avoid being hit with secondary sanctions, the Kommersant business newspaper reported Monday, citing industry insiders.

The Bank of China’s Russian division — which specializes in yuan payments between Russia and China — is the second-largest Chinese banking subsidiary in the country [...]

Experts [said that this] would likely increase fraud risks given the subsequent shift to opaque intermediaries to process payments between Russian and Chinese entities.

“This is not very good news for the Russian market,” an anonymous industry insider was quoted [...]. “There will be additional costs both in time and the price of processing payments.”

"But the most important problem is that payments go beyond the banking sector, resulting in the state having less control,” the source added.

Lois Marie Gibbs, born on this day in 1951, is an environmental activist whose advocacy began after discovering that her 5-year-old son's elementary school and neighborhood in Niagara Falls, New York was built on a toxic waste dump.

After this revelation, she formed the Love Canal Homeowner's Association, and began fighting at the local, state, and federal level for action, framing the issue as one of children's health. After years of struggle, the waste finally began to be cleaned up, and 833 families were eventually evacuated.

She continues to work with the organization, now renamed the Center for Health, Environment, and Justice (CHEJ).
