If Wales haven't spent so much money on their London to Birmingham rail line they might have had some money left over to do something in Wales.

It is time for Alan Bates to be honoured with a CBE or knighthood after former Post Office boss Paula Vennells handed back her CBE.

Alan Bates NEVER GAVE UP over a 20 year period fighting for justice for the postmasters in order to get a positive result. How many people have that level of focus, commitment and perseverance to do the right thing. Alan should be awarded with the highest awards available as recognition.

Around 70 people were trying to get into a small boat attempting to launch from a beach when it overturned in the early hours of Sunday morning, French media reports said.

Dozens were pulled from the water during overnight rescue efforts in Wimereux, to the south of Calais.

One person who is in a critical condition has been transferred to a hospital in nearby Boulogne-sur-Mer, a spokesperson from the French maritime prefecture told the BBC.

It said 32 people had been rescued and that one person has non-life threatening injuries.
