Hi. I’m Japanese and  I have a question about the usage of the term ‘dig’ in English, especially in the context of music.

In Japanese music culture, we often use the word ‘Dig’ (ディグる) as a slang term meaning to search for or discover new music, especially hidden gems or unknown artists. The term ‘Digる’ (pronounced ‘dig-ru’) is derived from English and was originally used by DJs who would dig in a box full of random vinyl records at music stores to find unknown tracks. However, nowadays, it’s also used more broadly to describe searching through vast music libraries like Spotify or diving deep into specific genres or artists.

My question is: does this usage of ‘dig’ exist in English-speaking music communities as well?

Thanks.

Yukimi’s voice on Break Me Down may be as light as a feather, but that doesn’t dampen the weight of her proclamations in this tribute to the singer’s resilience. Breaking away from the Little Dragon collective - which was formed in 1996 - for the first time, Yukimi Nagano explores themes of self-affirmation, inner strength, and the divine feminine. Yukimi is undoubtedly the central figure, however, instrumental contributions from bandmate Erik Bodin ensure that the singer needn’t sacrifice the warm, kaleidoscopic production that has been a permanent fixture in her career to express her singularity.

“Don’t put me in a box with the facts you steal/As I break through the wall, as I scream in a hall/As I stand at the top of a peak with the sun in my hands,” Yukimi sings. The lyrics are punchy but Yukimi delivers each line with an impossibly velvety tone, her voice swaying to and fro gently. It is, in fact, the production, led by a marching bass rhythm, that supercharges the track. Bodin wraps his frontwoman’s dulcet vocals in a blanket of hypnotic piano keys and illustrious synths. Every decadent layer he adds accentuates Yukimi’s voice, emboldening it to the point where even the most subtle coo is hard-hitting.

I don't know what this genre could be, it's a soundtrack with a specific song. Maybe Electric/EDM? Anybody able to help me with the name of this song.

Shazam was not able to find it.

https://youtu.be/6v6dbxPlsXs?t=1067

Song starts at 17:47 in the video.

I tried using shazam and aha and even posted in a few other subs still waiting for any responses. Let me know if you find anything, I'm still searching. I'd appreciate the help thankyou!

Hey everyone! I’m needing examples of common song lyrics that have multiple endings. For example ‘Hey Now’ or ‘Stop’. You can end either of those with at least 8 different songs and it can help signify what generation you’re part of.

Please and thank you!!

so i'm doing research about diddy and what is actually going on with him. factually it's pretty obvious, with all the lawsuit you can actually read, but i'm also interested in the theories. who is connected to who? what's up with queen b and jay? who's tommy and how is he connected to all of this?

I really enjoy writing music, but should I maybe try to start rapping or singing? What do you think? Now as a 14 year old boy, I'm going through puberty, so I have a lot of voice cracks. Feel free to ask questions!

This is for a presentation I'm doing for a club at school! We're all doing a 5 minute presentation on anything music related. So what are the funniest crimes committed by musicians? Any genre!
