We have an Ender-7 that blew a Bowden tube and filament feeder the same week. Apparently Creality does not support this printer anymore. The following links are to parts that appear to be compatible, but wanted to ask here if anyone has tried them?

Common sense would say that a mattress is absurdly big to print with a 3d printer, right?

Was looking at mattresses & toppers for my kids today and started wondering if maybe there's a better alternative to some of the more expensive options out there.

I've seen some examples of people printing pillows to mimic designs from Purple, but couldn't find any details on anyone trying a full mattress.

Admittedly part of the issue with finding things is that most search engines seem to assume that "mattresses" and "beds" are the same thing and there are a LOT of posts out there talking about beds for 3d printers themselves.

Logically I see 2 possible approaches:

1. A really, really big print bed -- i.e.: something like a large format CNC

Probably the most obvious, but least practical approach for the average person.

2. A modular design

I came across these mattress toppers today based on a grid of independent foam coils and it made me curious how well a similar approach might work if you were 3d printing coils out of TPU.

Biggest challenge would probably be stabilizing them. Maybe TPU gridfinity layers or some type of custom interlocking connectors?

From the cutaways, it looks like they're inserting their "coils" into a grid of holes cut into 2 pieces of firmer foam.

If you could figure out how to do this well, it could make it easy to upsize or downsize if you decided you wanted to switch to a different mattress size.

Hi, my daughters AI robot is dead on arrival, so I need a replacement Christmas gift fast. What is the best BambuLabs filament printer for a beginner (ease of use is most important). I have looked at Amazon and they all arrive after Christmas; the Bambu labs site says they will ship by Dec 20 (hopefully), but doesn't say anything about arrival time. Does anyone have some good suggestions?

I just upgraded my any cubic printer to a direct drive hotend, I’m concerned with the hot end melting part of the mount. At the closest the mount, printed in PLA, is about 1 cm away from the hot end. Is there any material that could be used to shield the mount from the heat created by the hot end. I’m not sure if the shielding would actually prevent the plastic from melting. In hindsight the mount should have been made with PETG but even with a more temperature resistant material the hot and is still very close to the mount. Thank you guys in advance.

I made a post on this subreddit yesterday asking for good deals on 10kg multicolor PLA bundles, and while I received some great responses the actual colors offered in the bundles were mostly disappointing. 2 shades of grey and a black, 3 shades of brown / orange, very little variance overall. Maybe 3/10 of the colors offered in most of the bundles were ones I actually wanted.

While it's not necessarily something that I'm going to be purchasing all the filaments for now, the idea of working towards having all the colors I need for this Settlers of Catan set (not necessarily the exact colors, but similar ones) is a cool idea to me, but I'm never going to get there with the filament bundles I've seen. So I was hoping someone could point me to a good filament vendor with customizable bundles where I can only get colors I actually want. They don't have to be colors like that print, that would just be a plus. I'm not even necessarily looking for stuff like silk / matte PLA, just interesting colors of normal PLA or PLA+.

Thank you all in advance!

I need to print some new drive gears and belt for this good'ol boy.

Anyone already done the work? I really hate making gears, especially when it's 2 on 1.

I'm currently printing this lamp for my son for Christmas. It's designed with a Bambu labs LED light strip in mind, but I plan on using my own strips and a very compact wled controller that can be powered by USB C.

My issue is that I've printed a couple lamps before, and I've never had a great (or even good) solution for the power cable. I've just had it sticking out the back of the print through whatever gap is included in the model. I'd like to include something a little more intentional and robust, especially since it's for a 10 year old. It would be great if there was just a USB C port on the back that he could plug into any random adapter (this short of a strip should be powered by any adapter we have lying around in this house). The port on the back could just be a pass through, with a tiny internal USB C cable coupling the wled controller. I'm hoping for something as small as possible. I've found a couple on Amazon, but they're nearly an inch wide which won't fit into this model or many others.

Any suggestions?

I had a coworker ask me today if I could print playable vinyl records on a 3D printer. I have to admit the thought never crossed my mind. My initial thought was probably not. I did some reading and found some April Fool’s joke articles from years ago about it. I’m pretty confident my bambu isn’t capable of that sort of detail, but is this something one of the more advanced 3D printers are capable of doing? Just curious if anyone knew anything about it. I honestly don’t know much about records or 3D printing technology other than the basic stuff I use my printer for.
