It lets you manage your arrs from iOS.

No affiliation! I just had no idea this app existed, so I am very glad I found it.

Hoping this will help others discover it.

So far, it’s free and awesome.

I'm on Newsgroup.ninja, just got a new CPU (5700X3D a month ago or so.) and a new router the other day (LN1301, but it was doing this before having the new router as well and it still does it plugging my PC directly into my modem bypassing it), also added a new hard drive to my PC (it does it even while downloading to my NVMe.) My ISP also upgraded my internet from 300mbps to 400mbps recently for free.

I have a 460mbps connection, but it keeps dipping down into the 170mbps range for a few sec and then it goes back up to the normal speeds. I disabled IPV6 to see if that was causing it, nope. I tried downloading directly to my NVMe to see if that would fix it, nope. I disabled direct unpack in Sab and other CPU/HDD taxing settings and still nothing. Restarting my PC MIGHT have fixed it for a day, but i wasn't downloading much in that day so it's hard to say. I never saw this happen before upgrading my CPU AND before my ISP upgraded my internet from 300mbps to 400mbps. So i don't have any clue what this is causing it. Any clues what it might be? I'm having a hard time narrowing down to my ISP, CPU etc. I'm sure it could be my new hard drive as well, but i don't understand why it would do it while downloading to my NVMe if that were the case.

"file not available on site." I have started seeing this on music and video yet there is a thumbnail and file size and all the other info related to the file. Seeing it in multiple groups as well. The download manager says : Failed - No file

Been with Easynews since 1990 91 and never seen this.

I've been using a registered version of Forte Agent 8 forever, but my pc just died and while I have installed Agent 8 on the new machine, it doesn't seem to handle NZBs correctly. The old install uploaded NZB headers to the Inbox, but the new one doesn't seem to do anything with the NZB files.

Since Forte appears to be toast and I can't turn to them for help, what is the best alternative to Agent? A lot of people recommend SABNzb as an NZB handler, but I've always enjoyed browsing though headers in a news group. What the best app for that?

Hi, just another newbe here. Been reading about providers and seems that most of them rely on the same backbone. Found a good yearly promo on Usenetdeal and bought It. Anyone else with real experience with It?

Hey everyone, I’m in the UK and used to get gigabit speeds from Eweka (about 133MBps) but recently it’s dropped down to about 40MBps. Anyone else experienced the same? The route to them is very short for me, only through one other AS so I’m surprised it has dropped so much. Their support does not seem helpful in the matter. I have a farm block account which takes almost the same path through the same AS peer and they’re 133Mbps still.

Hoping its ok to ask this here. Im diving head first into Usenet and I'm getting off torrents if possible. Been using torrents for over 12 years now and a little sick of Seeding.

Ive subscribed to the following:

newshosting

Frugal

Blocknews(500GB)

Additional:

Newshosting came with EasyNews

Frugal came with a bonus server

Prioritys:

frugal - 0

newhosting - 0

EU frugal - 1

EU newshosting - 1

NL newshosting - 2

Bonus Frugal - 10

Easynews - 10

EU EasyNews - 11

US Blocknews - 90

EU Blocknews - 91

EU2 Blocknews - 91

is this the right way to do it? Focus US unlimited servers first, then EU, then NL, Then those with limits do same thing US first and so on

Then comes the number of connections, if I'm using 3 different newshosting servers. Does it aggregate number of connection? Meaning if I have 50 on the US Newshosting and 50 on EU Newshosting is that going to show them a total of 100 and breach the max ?

If you're currently a Newsgroup Ninja subscriber and have a lifetime annual rate, check your junk mail, because they're no longer honoring it, and the mail arrived a few days before renewal, they've increased the price and now include a "free" vpn.

Their support acknowledges that I signed up with a lifetime annual rate, and that there is a lifetime discount agreement for my account, but that they won't be honoring it:

Thank you for reaching out to us. We genuinely appreciate your loyalty and support.

We understand that receiving news of a rate increase can be concerning, especially when you initially signed up with the understanding of a consistent lifetime annual rate. We want to address your concerns and provide clarity regarding the recent changes.

The decision to increase our rates was not made lightly. Various factors, such as rising operational costs including storage, electricity, and other essential services, have necessitated this adjustment. Additionally, we’ve been investing significantly in enhancing our product to ensure you receive the best possible experience and value.

Given your situation and the lifetime discount agreement you have, we understand this news may cause frustration. We want to assure you that we take our commitment to our customers very seriously. Although this rate increase applies to all our plans, we are open to exploring potential adjustments for loyal customers like yourself.

If the price increase does not fit into your budget, we can check with our billing department to see if there is any possibility for a discount or other accommodations. Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we are here to support you in any way we can.  Please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions or concerns. We are more than happy to assist you and provide additional information.

Thank you once again for your continued support and understanding.

(The discount they've offered for the the next year is $6, and it took two e-mails to actually get the price)

I need to make some decisions based on expiring accounts.

I have Newsgroupninja which I'm happy with as my main backbone. I likewise have accounts with vipernews and usenet farm which are about to expire. Any thoughts on what I should replace the final two with, or should i retain one of them?

Ideally I am looking for alternatives with multiple backbones. For instance frugalusent has access to more than one backbone. Likewise I recall there was once a provider that had up to three backbones depending on which package you buy. Sadly I don't remember who this is.

Any suggestions?

Hi :)

For the longest time (2016?) I have only ever used nzbgeek as a single indexer without feeling I was missing something.

Lately, as my quality preferences changed I found some releases are not being found.

I added nzbfinder (which I also had an account since 2016 I forgot about) as a secondary but see mostly overlaps between the two.

Can you recommend a third (fourth?) Indexer to complement the two I have or is there one that I could replace nzbfinder with to get more results?

I heard good things about slug, but it probably will take a while for them to open up registration again from what I gathered so far.

Thanks for your time and have a great day.

Getting 403s on Prowlarr, and Hydra is unable to check capabilities all of a sudden. Oddly, resolving the API request in the browser works. Anyone else having issues, or better yet, know a solution?

I have unlimited grabs and API hits, so I dont think it is a limiting thing.

I have a long history on the open seas but have been a land lubber for a while. I find it interesting that one of the ways I used to do things is back and while it is the same many of the tools and methods have changed.

So I feel like I am a newborn baby with this. I have just grasped the understanding of an indexer and now looking at providers. I know there is maps and whatnot etc. etc. etc.

I just have 2 questions(with sub questions):

  1. With indexers do they normally tell you what providers they index? If not, is there a way usually to tell what provider the entry is coming from that the indexer is picking up?
  2. Pricing... why is there block vs. unlimited? The big factor between the two seems to be speeds and connections however looking at the ones I have been looking at there seems to be an "unlimited|unlimited" tier for what appears to be WAAAAAYYYYY less than any of the block pricing with just as many connections etc. Why do they offer either/or?

I am trying to download the same release on two different indexer. On one indexer (NzbGeek) the file eventually fails during the par checks (it says something like not enough par-blocks, 32 block(s) needed, but 10 block(s) available.) but when I use the other indexer, I see it actually uses my backup servers (pic) and is able to repair the file fine.

  1. Why is one indexer failing and the other one is fine?
  2. Why did the first indexer not use my backup server?

Hey All,

I'm not sure how I've never heard of Usenet. I've been using Torrents since 2012 and just stumbled upon this lovely thing. Sure, it costs money, but not having to store/seed sounds like a nice trade-off.

So far, I've been researching it for a day (not that long), and so far, I've got the following: 1 month of FrugaNews sub. Then I signed up for Geek. I'm noticing that Geek has a lot of shows/ movies but not a lot of books. Do different indexers have different content? Are they all indexing the same data?

Do you have any tips you recommend to me? I was thinking after this 1 month "trial" I'd wait for a black Friday sale and dive in. I know it's good to have a Provider and a backup block account. But how about Indexers? Are you supposed to have a backup indexer too? Is the only way to go with Paid Versions?

I'm in the USA so please keep that in mind when suggesting providers/indexes. I saw Eweka was a very popular one on here but its EU server so I assume that would be bad for me

Hey everyone,

I'm using NZBGet with Frugal Usenet on a 150Mbps internet connection, but my download speeds have dropped a lot recently—I'm only getting around 6-8 MB/s. It was working fine and I was getting better speeds just a couple of weeks ago, so I’m not sure what’s changed. Here’s my setup:

  • Client: NZBGet
  • Provider: Frugal Usenet
  • Internet: 150 Mbps

I’ve checked my NZBGet settings and the server connections, but nothing seems to help. Any ideas on what could be causing this slowdown?

Overall, it was a good service, strong speeds when Frugal began slowing a couple months ago. Also reduced missing article issues, but overall it was kinda expensive at $13/15/mo. Cancelled, and of course emails started appearing about retention offers; this one is the best so far.

In all seriousness, I don't want you to miss out on our latest and greatest offer. For just $35.88/year ($2.99/month), you can get our premium Newshosting service, and I promise it's worth every penny. As an additional benefit, unlimited Easynews and unlimited Tweaknews will be included at no additional charge for the duration of your plan. Plus, I will also add an additional 3 months of access to your account at no extra cost.

Not exactly an expert on this stuff though, maybe you guys can point out the fatal flaw I can't see. $3 is cheaper than frugal.

The only reasonable flaw is that they are gonna put me on the 'Lite' plan, throttle or restrict me, or lock me in for the full year with no month-to-month option.

Can somebody tell just if I am barking up the wrong tree as far as setting up my providers as I really cannot make heads not tails from charts and trees. And I mean no disrespect at all to those that have created them...that job obviously was not an easy one. I am simple-minded and thought I might ask the question before I put good money out there.

I somehow lost a couple of providers s I was looking at SABnzbd the other day...I currently only have FrugalFarm. After a few frustrating hours (of looking at the charts and researching prices), I thought I might add NewsGroupDiirect and Usenetserver to my arsenal....as far as getting the most bang for my buck and all-around coverage. Are these two appropriate for my needs? Are they actually on different backbones? I know its right there, but my eyes have crossed, and I am really just looking for a yes or no answer. Thank you for your time....and please be nice to an old guy.

Buffer Overflow Fix (#346):

  • Resolved a potential buffer overflow issue with the getrealpath function that could impact system stability.

Daemon Privilege Fix (#345):

  • Added a safeguard to remove unnecessary privileges when the NZBGet daemon is run as root with an invalid DaemonUsername.

Developer Tools and Improvements:

CLang Debug Build Fix (#338):

  • Fixed an issue with CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS_DEBUG for CLang, which caused incorrect debug builds.

POSIX Unit Test Fix (#376):

  • Resolved failed unit tests on POSIX systems that were built without ncurses support.

Community

We will be opening up a dedicated NZBGet Discord server in the near future. While it is currently used for developer communication, we are nearing the point where everyone will soon be welcome. The goal of this server is to drive conversation around product enhancements and ideas. If you have a feature request or bug to report GitHub is still the preferred channel. More details on this coming soon.

Anyone have any success with newsgroupdirect?

Is there a way to contact support without using their contact form as its broken per the above error?
