I read a comment about someone willing their account to someone and it made me wonder. Do you think gaming networks will just lock accounts that are x of numbers of years old cause they know the original owner has passed away?

So I bought this game plus a copy for my wife and we were super excited to play through it together. We started playing but the more we played the weirder it seemed that nothing was happening, no story was going on and no interesting quests were showing up.

Turns out that multiplayer in this game is a storyless sandbox mode, which completely ruins the entire reason for even playing it. You are just building for the sake of it.

The game also doesn't TELL you any of this up front, before buying or when starting to play, happily pretending that you are going to play some version of the actual game. You are left to figure this out yourself off the back of your own wasted money and time.

I basically bought two copies of a bait-and-switch. I would gladly refund it if I still could, it was nothing but a big disappointment and a total waste of time and money.

Sorry if this seems elementary, but I'm new to PC gaming. I'm handicapped and trying to find a set up that I can use. I am trying to use an azeron cyborg 2 for my functional hand, and a full joystick for my nerve damaged side since its easier to hold than a mouse. Is this something you can set up on steam? Do I need to purchase some kind of adaptor? Thanks in advance!

I'm curious about the contrast between gamers. My easy answers are Good: Commander Shepard (Mass Effect) Evil: Sephiroth (FF7)

I’ve been playing it on game pass over the holidays and I personally don’t see overtly negative criticism it gets.

I would say it is on par with Skyrim in terms of quality. I’m enjoying it more than Fallout 4 but it definitely falls behind anything made pre-Oblivion.

Maybe I’ve just conditioned myself to lower my standards for Bethesda games in their last few games.

What are your opinions on it if you’ve played?

Looking for game suggestions? Have a backlog and don't know where to start next? This thread is for you!

Tips to get the best suggestions

  • Be detailed! If you're looking for a roguelike, say that. If your game must include zombies, you should probably mention that. The more detailed you are the better the recommendations will be.
  • Are you limited by PC specifications or a budget? That's all good stuff to include.

As A life long gamer.. primarily in PvP games, I have now and always felt that Spawn Peeking should never be allowed. I understand the point of PvP is to beat the other team.. But it requires zero skill, zero sport, and zero competition. I think this takes the fun away from both attacker and defender.. I feel the game needs to be played as a sport, not a quick wipe.

Recently I made a post about the lack of optimized games released this generation, other people have as well - be we all get scoffed off with things like “bro, you can’t expect to play on a toaster” and “games are looking better than ever, you just need to not be poor."

Below is a list of games that all target 30fps in a promised 60fps generation, all of these games run poorly on consoles and an RTX 3060 12GB which is the most common GPU spec at the moment according to Steam.  It’s always been the case that the most common PC spec is just slightly above the current console generation, but nowhere near a far amount.  None of the games on this list hold 60fps at native 1080p medium, most of them are upscaled from sub 1080p and look soft and noisy.  Note:  These are all links to random benchmarks, I am not affiliated with any channels in any way and are all available via search.

Below are a list of games from all over last generation which look almost as good - some better - than current generation games that all hit 1080p 60fps on PC and some of them very close on their consoles.  Notice how much sharper and cleaner these games look.  All running on a GTX 1060 6GB which was the most popular GPU at the time.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

And here’s a few notable mentions on the GTX 1060, a few hold outs of good optimization, these were end of generation games that performed very well on the old GPU.  I doubt we’ll see many games on this type of list at the end of the current generation.

Callisto Protocol

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKvju6EZM3Q

Dead Island 2

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lra0iRtYmZU

High on Life

Hitman 3

Spider-Man

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qds-xZfgGk8

Watch_Dogs Legion

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8_rrIuP6Zc

We do have a couple of stand outs this generation setting the example of what games should look like and run like, but there’s more low performing games than high.  All at shitty sub 1080p resolutions upscaling to blurry and noisy fake 4K.

Are there any versions anywhere of these games that don't crash? Original vs remake, steam vs Gog... or seems like they are all trash? (Tried all the fixes in the steam guides etc to no avail)

Game released on December 11 sits with 33k "Overwhelmingly positive" reviews and no one seemingly talks about it, at least on Reddit. For comparison, other 2024 hits like Dragon Age: Veilguard - has 32k reviews, Persona 3 Reload and Silent Hill 2 - 36k, God of War Ragnarök "only" 22k. What do you think? Is it worth it?

Founding myself in situations where I simply can’t make myself play and enjoy games. I finally have PC that can run all games on pretty much max graphics and have accommodated a huge library of games. I have ton of free time since I am retired. Wife and kids do not bother me, actually all of them are jealous that i have both time and equipment for good gaming. They all are into gaming though they all like and play different styles of game. I have my own space. At 47 I am in situations that I have been dreaming off since i was like 10 years old kid. And instead of playing my games, drinking my beer and smoking some nice herbs i am watching friking youtube or funny cats and dogs on TikTok. The hell is wrong with me. Am I getting too old. Did I finally grow up. Please tell me this is just a temporary.

Edit: appreciate you all for taking your time and giving me advice. Thank you 🙏 And forgot to tell you and some of you might be wondering how the hell Iam retired at 47. Well i worked as electro engineer mainly on power grid building and maintenance. Few years ago had work related accident which hurt my back, butt and hips that made me partially disabled. So i have difficulty to walk or stand longer periods or even sit. Now lets game Merry Christmas and happy New Year
