I was listening to PJ Harvey's Let England Shake earlier and I was trying to remember how it was received at the time. Turns out it won the Mercury Prize, and was Harvey's fourth nomination. And then I was curious as to who-else has won or been a finalist for the award and it's WILD. Living in a nation where our 'premier' music awards event is basically a chance to throw laurels at Taylor Swift every year it's really fascinating to see all the different artists who've won or been nominated for the Mercury Prize.

on an technical level who is a better artist weezer or lana del rey my opinion is lana is better vocally but weezer is far better from a musicality standpoint but me and my friend just can’t agree on a technical standpoint who is a better artist

Every year earlier and earlier people say she's coming and then play a little snippet of that song. Which I'm not going to lie makes me despise Christmas more and more just because that damn song will be overplayed. It's honestly my worst nightmare and I wish it never existed but what can I do. Does anyone else feel like it's overplayed every year or do you just hate the song in general?
