20 years ago i had all the music i ever wanted to listen to. Nspster + winamp + hours of listening pleasure. For the last 10 years i haven't touched an audio file directly and have really loved the streaming subscription model - everything i listen to now is Amazon music, Spotify and google play music / yt misic subs.

Recently, my daughter has been going through a rough time, and is currently in a facility that is helping her and ys get through this. Music is a big part of our lives, and she has no access to Internet/ streaming options, but she is able to use an mp3 player. How do i get music to her for a few months on an mp3 player that is not ludicrously priced? Is there a way to get a "streaming only" sort of device? Are there any music subs that allow downloading of content i pay for? My daughter has a playlis that 200 tracks should cover, and i just want a (legit) way of getting some / most of these onto an mp3 player for her that doesn't need to go through spy/malware sites

I was litteraly asking myself the question, I found some generic numbers about the average price of an album or a song, but I was wondering if you know any service that does it automatically.

Maybe a service that could even show you how much you would pay to majors or independant labels.

(* Spotify or any other streaming service)

Ok a few years ago my wife and I were scooteringnaround Austin Texas and we heard this band playing a lot of drums and such. They were a Latin band with like thirty people in it doing a huge like production with smoke and stuff and puppets going in and out of the crowd.

The main identifier I remember is they had very tall hats with LED lights on them. They didn't do a lot of vocals it was mainly just drums and stuff. I've been googling and can't seem to come across them on Google.

Any help is appreciated.

What do you think are some of the biggest fall offs in music? Here are some I can think of:

Animal Collective: AnCo's run of albums from 2005-2009 was legendary and Merriweather Post Pavilion had put them on top of the indie world. When they came back with Centipede Hz. in 2012, it was more of a whimper than a bang (I like it, but it's only a 7/10 at best). Then they followed that up with their worst album yet (excluding the noisey shit like Danse Manatee): Painting With, which is one of the most grating albums I've ever listened to. They released a decent pair of albums in 2022 and 2023, but not many people seemed to be paying attention, at least not nearly as much as when MPP came out.

Chance The Rapper: While I never liked this guy at all, it seems like he had quite the fanbase for having only released mixtapes and no proper album. However, once The Big Day came out, he became a laughing stock and 5 years later, still no new album. The "I love my wife" memes were great though.

Muse: They started as a Radiohead ripoff (albeit with some great tunes), but then became a little too bombastic and over the top. Their first 4 albums are great, but everything after has been pretty meh, especially their last two albums.

U2: People love to hate on U2, but their run from 1980-1993 is an important part of the rock canon. They put out some incredible music in their first decade and a half. 1997's Pop wasn't that good, but then they came back with 2000's All That You Can't Leave Behind, which is actually a solid return to form. Everything after this has been quite abysmal though, and we're talking a quarter of a century of decline at this point. The automatically downloaded album on iTunes did them no favours, especially considering it was like a weed and kept coming back every time you deleted it. After 2 and a half decades of sucking, mixed with Bono's personality, people seem to forget the great music they made and just think of the shell of a band that they now are.

Weezer: This band had two of the greatest albums of the 90s and then fell off hard in the millenium. Most of this can be attributed to the then sour reception of Pinkerton, where Rivers Cuomo swore off writing personal lyrics and decided to make pop music instead and collaborate with plenty of outside songwriters. There were some decent albums along the way like Everything Will Be Alright In The End and Weezer (White Album), but they have not managed to match anything from their first two albums.

It's like I've heard it I know it exists. It's an older song.

"It seems our love moves just alittle fast" or something. With another add on verse that may go "I'm in love, I'm in love,"

Almost has a soulful sound to it but can't find it for the life of me.

The wife has been wanting a record player for a couple years now. I’ve also been wanting a retro Bluetooth speaker for the home as somewhat of a house warming gift to ourselves for moving in this year. So I combined the idea of the ideas and with my birthday money I got recently and bought a 6 in one record player/casette player/cd player/bluetooth capable/audio jack port player for the home. My wife is a swiftie, and that birthed the idea for her to get one. So now I know what to get her for Christmas.

What are some great records to get now that we have the ability to play them?

Hey,

I'm a musician who's only been playing for 2 years, but want to plan ahead for the future, I play piano.

I've gotten pretty good over a small period of time, and want to know when I want to get myself a career and kickstart my dream, I know what to do, does anyone know what that first step would be?

I'm still fairly new to music as a whole but I'm putting in all the effort to try, so when the time comes I want to be ready

You ever try to show your friends and family your music, hoping they will like it? It seems like they seemed more bothered, if anything, no matter how good the song is. I only wonder now, how do people get their start on YouTube, Spotify, etc. My songs are really starting to come together, but no one still seems interested. OR, is my songs terrible? Be honest.
