I’m not sure if this is the correct subreddit for this (please redirect me if it’s not). Basically I’ve been in a band for a year, we’ve done a few gigs but now we’ve all finished with school and really want to up our game. Essentially, I’m sending out loads of emails to local venues. If anyone has any tips on what to say, how formal to be, etc it’d be really useful.

Not just songs that are happy-sounding but have sad lyrics; Any song that's really sad, however a lot of people don't realize it's sad.

One example (at least for me) is Disco 2000 by Pulp. It's a great song, and I've always liked it. But after listening to it closely I've come to realize it's actually a really sad song. Hey-Ya is another one; but to be fair, it is deceptively happy sounding.

How do you guys even find songs ? Do people use Spotify or YouTube or TikTok? For example I love songs with same vibes as “If you think I’m pretty” or “pocket locket” but all those songs are only on TikTok lol. Is there a way y’all find songs? I can’t seem to no matter how hard I try, all the songs with the vibes I like are either way too overused that makes them boring or as I said, so underrated that I can’t find them

I heard this song at a restaurant last night and I've definitely heard it before. I really like it but cannot figure out what it's called or who sings it. I don't have much to go on but I would say the genre is r&b/soul and it is a male singer with a pretty high pitched voice. almost gives me a lenny kravitz vibe (think "it ain't over til it's over"), but it's not him. it has guitar... it's definitely a love song... not super slow but not fast either. I can't really think of lyrics, which isn't helpful, but I swear he says "I'm so into you" or something. I've tried looking it up by the those lyrics but it's just too broad. I think it's a newer song, it's definitely come out in the past 10 years, probably less than that. ugh... I know this isn't a lot of detail but it's driving me crazy. I don't know when I'll hear it again. anything help is appreciated!

UPDATE! WOW, I figured it out. I knew I had heard it before- ended up being one of the many songs that I have added to my apple music library (7,000+ songs). I knew it could very possible that I had heard it before because I had saved it in the past. took 2+ hours of going through my music but I found it. it is Take Me Where Your Heart Is by Q. my mind can rest now... thank you for the help everyone!

this is an random question ngl but I don't know if it's because I have depression But when I listen to artists that are sad. For example, like mitski, dusters xxxtentacion and Alex g I feel like I'll become sadder even when i'm in a good mood like I feel more depressed. And then that makes me feel worse and then it's like a spiral. But I really do not know what to do. Because those are my favorite artists. And it's been like this even before i've had depression. So why is it that sad music makes me feel worse and does anyone else feels like this or is it just me?
