I just felt compelled to say that I believe Buddy Holly is the greatest loss/tragedy to Rock'n'Roll, and Popular Music in general, that there has ever been. All we know or have heard was all accomplished by the age of 22.

I always hear this type of melody that sort of follows a pre-determined scale in 80's songs. I can't attribute it to any specific genre because I hear it across different genres. I'm curious if there is any single genre that spearheaded this kind of melodic scale found in the specific portion of these songs I've linked here:

I'll give an example: my favourite album of all time (Violent Things by The Brobecks) is unfinished and unmastered - the band/solo project completely ran out of money before this could be done and thus the album was released in an incomplete state. Friends who don't have a deep understanding of music production have remarked to me that it sounds like a "lovingly baked but gritty/undercooked cookie" where the imperfections are part of the charm.

Which is a compliment to it but I genuinely can't see any of the imperfections at all, even though I know they're objectively there. I can't hear it because my goggles are so rose tinted that they're practically opaque. I can notice mistakes in other songs but not in the album I've listened to hundreds of times.

Apparently almost all of the songs (with the exception of a couple) are either unmastered or even unmixed. I couldn't tell you which songs or which of these it's missing, obviously. Lol.

I dont know, I just realised this and found it interesting. Was wondering if anyone else had a similar experience

So far I've experienced obnoxious screechers, dead filming-zombie crowds, and a woman who kept posting on social media every 5 minutes. Which I get could be a lot worse. Please enlighten me with your horror stories (also curious if your worst experience happened before or after the pandemic)

I think they should call themselves something else. And they should also be sued for ripping off Daft Punk on Aeterna (that song name alone should illicit groans). I’ve been with them since Parachutes. I think Ghost Stories was their last great record. And even on that they don’t “sound like themselves”. I wish I can quit them. I keep waiting for them to wise up. Sound like a band again, not a ProTools session. And when did they get so obsessed with playing some orchestral sound before every song. Does every song need a four on the floor beat, too? They also feel the need to clutter up the stereo field with garbage noises in either channels. Somebody remind them it’s cool if it’s just a guitar and a vocal. There’s no further they can get away from who they were. It’s almost as if this was the AI version of the band. But this is no band. This is Coldplay. (groan)

So I spent like an hour yesterday trying to find this song with no luck at all and it's driving me absolutely nuts!

This song sounds so much like "Kids" by MGMT, so much so that I was convinced it is also by MGMT, but I've gone through at least 3 of their albums to no avail. I looked at Empire of Sun. Nope. Foster the People? Nope. Doesn't seem to exist... It's like some Mandela Effect type thing going on.

I'm pretty sure it was in a Fifa game, but I'm not 100% sure. It's, as I say in the title, Synth, and it almost has a bit of a delay to it. There's no rap. The singing actually sounds tremendously like MGMT. Could potentially be them. It's synth pop.

Why is it so freaking impossible to find lol?? It's really driving me outside of my head. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
