I don't know why I'm writing all this Take it as a appreciation post/ story.

Me and my girlfriend decided to book a last minute trip to wroclaw last Christmas! Just need to say it was a amazing experience.

We landed and totally forgot that people drive on the right side of the road ended up getting the wrong bus 🤣. Once we finaly got to the city we walked along an alley and was greeted by a drunk man up a pole screaming free live music 🤔 fucking hilarious.

Zabka upon zabka hotdogs fuck yeah!!!!!!!!!

My girlfriend got into a bit of a trance trying to find some sort of robot cat. So she dragged me around several carafour shops looking for it. I still don't understand.

Perogi and kotlety, I would kill for perogi with the quality and price of poland in England.

And the hospitality, despite my lack of polish I ended up drinking and eating noodles with some local fella.

Being under age and trying to buy the cheapest vodka I'm zabka waffling to the confused Ukrainian until he thought I was 18 ( not my proudest moment)

And a random drunk man in borek, shouting elf at me and getting the security to have a go at me. Still cracks me up 😅

I don't know why I wrote this post but I just want to say wroclaw verry good

Hello, it’s me again, the solo traveller visiting Wrocław for the first time. Well I’ve only been in the country three hours and I’ve already ended up with a bus fine for not validating my ticket. I purchased a ticket at the machine but I didn’t see anybody validating on the bus and didn’t know where to go.

An inspector typically got on and took my passport details and issued me with a long receipt. I get to the hostel and translate it and I’ve got a 280zloty fine! How do I go about paying this? Feel so annoyed at myself for letting this happen to me on my first day 🫠

The inspector would only speak Polish to me but thankfully a bi-lingual person helped translate what was going on. If you’re reading this, I’m the confused English boy on the 106 bus this afternoon. Thank you so much for helping me understand what was going on ❤️

Hej. Szukam dobrego męskiego fryzjera w rozsądnej cenie. Chodzi o Krzyki, a konkretnie okolice Sky Tower, nasyp i Tęczowa. Nie interesują mnie salony, w których za dzień dobry biorą 150 zeta. Możecie coś polecić? Bo muszę umówić mojego na sobotę.

Hi all, I recently moved to Wroclaw and found a nice apartment in Kleczków. I am still new at trying to learn polish and really want to integrate into the neighborhood. Can anyone recommend a good place to get a drink and get to know people?

Gdzie we Wrocławiu można poznać nowych znajomych?

Kluby do potańczenia odpadają.

Hi all,

I am currently living in Wrocław but will be moving to Warsaw soon for employment. I took on a position with the UN that requires me to take a medical examination before the contract can be issued to me, in accordance with Polish law and the UN's own policies.

The problem is that the UN requires that the physician fill out a short information sheet detailing his/her observations (see picture in comments), and a signature confirming both the observations and the results of blood and urine tests (which I already completed at a separate clinic). My concern is that a doctor might be unable (language barrier) or unwilling to fill out the form, as I think this is above and beyond what a physician is supposed to do as part of a pre-employment medical check up ("badanie wstępne").

I have spoken to one local physician who speaks English, and he said he could provide me with a check-up and fill out the form after seeing it, but he is charging 600zł for the service, which I believe to be absurdly steep after finding out that a private check-up of this sort typically costs between 150zł-250zł.

If anyone could let me know of any other options in and around Wrocław I would be hugely grateful. If I'm wrong and the price given by the physician I spoke to is legitimate, I'll bite the bullet and pay for it. For context, I am not presently insured, and would be paying for all medical services out of my own pocket.

I'm looking for a room at 2k PLN or less, ideally in a house or townhome, but flats are okay. Is anyone renting a room?

My social media:

I'm from the US, still learning Polish. Currently in Leszno until the 15th, then I will need somewhere else to stay.

Please let me know!

Michael

Hi everyone,

I just bought a flat in Wroclaw and would really need some help in organising the space. The space is organized in a weird way in this flat and I really need to make custom wardrobes/furniture in order to maximise storage space, which seems to me like it will be a challenge.

Does anyone know a good architect or interior designer in Wroclaw (preferably English-speaking, but not mandatory as my partner is Polish)? I could really use some creativity and a professional eye. Thank you very much!

Anyone free for a beer or walk around Wrocław this weekend? I am Polish and English speaking male 30's from London and visiting family near Magnolia but happy to travel to the Rynek. I am around today or perhaps next week as well...

Alternatively if you know of any cool hangouts to meet travellers to dajcie znać!

I’m a solo traveller (24M) who’ll be visiting Wrocław for four nights in a few weeks. It’s my first time visiting Poland and travelling abroad in general for about 10 years, and my first time travelling solo! 😬

I’ll have about three full days and one evening to get out and explore the city. One whole day will be taken up by a trip to Auschwitz but aside from that I am at the mercy of the city. Is there anywhere in particular you would recommend that’s safe and comfortable to eat for solo travellers? I’d like to grab a drink or two as well on the evenings and if there’s any LGBT friendly places that would be a bonus! Somewhere soft and friendly where I’d feel welcome would be much appreciated.

I’m open to suggestions about anywhere that is a “must see” or well designed for solo travellers? Are there any tips or things I need to be aware of to stay safe?

I know very little Polish unfortunately. Despite my best efforts at learning, I’ve not persevered enough and I think I’ll have to take a cheat sheet with common introductory phrases. Is English widely spoken out here?

Aside from that, I’m a massive rookie when it comes to travelling and this is a massive step for me to go by myself but I’m really excited to explore what you have to offer!

P.s. I’ve got circa 500 zloty for the time I’m there which has cost me about £100 which seems insanely good value for money. Is this realistic?

Cześć! Czy mamy we Wrocławiu legitną chińską restaurację? Nie obskurną budę z żarciem dla studentów, ale z prawdziwego zdarzenia chińską restaurację, w której można zjeść np. kaczkę po pekińsku.

Hello dear people,

Does anyone has a good school for learning polish in Wrocław to recommend ?

I'd like group courses, since individual ones are much pricier...

I'm not asking to stay somewhere for free (necessarily), but that if I can pay after 2 weeks of having stayed with you (when I get paid). I'm thinking $200-300 for a 2 week stay, but am flexible.

My LinkedIn is

I just got a new job with an old client of mine as a marketing consultant. I'm working with TwojStartup to legalize my stay in Poland as a contractor.

If you can help, please message me!

Thanks,

Michael
