I seem to be having trouble finding certain content. I have 3 indexers, nzbgeek, altHUB, and drunkenslug. Should I pick up a second provider? From my searching on this sub people say to pair it with a backbone but I’m not sure what to pair Usenet farms with? I checked the wiki page and saw the tree but I don’t quite understand it. Would I pick a different provider on a different backbone or do you go to the backbone’s website directly and buy a certain amount of data? I’m sort of confused.

Not sure if this has been reported yet but it seems that the API is totally busted on DogNZB. They aren't mentioning it on their website but it's definitely not working

So I have Easynews and Eweka, have done for years, Eweka is my filler while Easynews is my main as I tend to use the web browser search a lot more than NNTP. I got a email from both companies this week saying they are raising prices by £2 a month. But within the Eweka email it said you now get Easynews included. So presumably I no longer need to keep my standalone Easynews account, which I have had since 2002.

Does anyone know any more info ? Like would I lose anything dropping my standalone Easynews compared to the Eweka combo ? I got both accounts via super cheap Black Friday deals so I am a bit reluctant to drop standalone Easynews in case the combo deal goes south. But at the same time it seems foolish to pay for both.

I've had an EN account for 20+ years! Wow! Just wondering if the search is down for me or everyone?

I have frugalnews & eweka as well as block accounts on a few others. (Usenetfarm & news demon) I'm getting a lots of missing articles. Am I missing something? Is there another provider I need?

I have nzb.su & geek for indexers. Been trying to get slug a while but no luck. Not sure if that would help anyway.

I usually get what I need eventually but I've had to manually search for 4k versions or resort to torrents fairly frequently as of late.

I'm not sure if I have my accounts configured correctly and was wondering if I'm doing anything wrong.

So I just signed up for the Terabyte Tuesday deal and have a 1TB block purchase.

I use prowlarr, Sonarr and Radarr.

I added the block account directly to SABnzbd. Set the priority to 1 (where my unlimited account is 0) and it tested as working.

I'm just wondering if there's anything I need to do further to get sonarr/radarr to utilize the blocks as a backup to my unlimited plan - or if that's all I needed to do.

Thanks in advance! Sorry if this is a noob question, I did check the Wiki but couldn't really make a ton of sense of what I found.

I'm trying to digitalize a graph on Grabit but when I calibrate the x-axis origin it automatically calibrates the x-axis maximum as well. How to fix this?

It’s been a year since NZBGet.com and version 22 were launched. This project is a continuation of the original NZBGet, formerly maintained by hugbug, who dedicated years to its development. The goal has been to pick up where NZBGet was left off once it was abandoned, maintaining the tool’s efficiency and speed while continuing to support the Usenet community.

In the past year, several updates have been made:

Expanded Platform Support and Installation Options

We’ve expanded platform support and distribution/installation options, including:

  • Windows: Winget and Chocolatey support.
  • Linux: DEB and RPM packages with repository integration, and support for the Linux riscv64 architecture.
  • macOS: Universal installer for Apple Silicon and Homebrew support.
  • Docker: Official images for armv7, arm64, and amd64.

Extension Management

The extension system has been improved, with better error handling and performance updates. Several existing extensions have been adapted, and new ones have been added.

  • Adapted Extensions: VideoSort, FakeDetector, FailureLink, EMail, Logger, ExtendedUnrar, PasswordDetector, EasySort, NotifyPlex, Completion, SpeedControl.
  • New Extensions: NotifySickChill and NotifyEmbyJellyfin.

The list of supported extensions will continue to grow. If you haven’t you can see what is in motion or make a request on the NZBGet GitHub.

Performance and Stability Improvements

Numerous bugs have been resolved, including critical fixes for file corruption and buffer overflow issues. The transition to CMake for build processes has improved cross-platform development efficiency, replacing other platform-dependent tools.

Community Involvement: Join the Discussion on Discord

To improve communication and gather input from the community, a Discord server has been created. With more contributors now on board but limited time and resources, it’s important to know what features matter most to users. Feedback through Discord will help prioritize the next steps.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed. The project continues to evolve, and community input will guide its progress.

was left off once it was abandoned, maintaining the tool’s efficiency and speed while continuing to support the Usenet community.

So, my friend uses NewsHosting which offers 100 connections. He has set the number as high as 20 and the speed always drops. The best results seem to be with just 2 connections (average about 50MB/s there). So what's the point of having 100? He thanks you.

I've been on TweakNews for over 17 years and I have a (the?) sweet recurring deal, but as everybody knows they increased their prices. Maybe I can stay on the old plan by contacting them, I believe my account renews in December. But I want to prepare myself properly in case this isn't possible for whatever reason.

So I definitely want a main sub on an Omicron backbone, TweakNews (Base IP / HW Media) has always served me well. I few gaps here and there, but maintainable with a few blocks on other backbones.

I do feel that the Eweka and the 'other' HW Media backbone (EasyNews, Ninja, Newshosting) might be a bit better then the Base IP one. They have longer retention for one...

So between those two backbones, which one would you advise? The HW Media backbone (AS33438) also has a location/server (or however you should call it) in the US as well opposed to the Eweka backbone. I don't really know if that's an added plus being from Europe myself. Maybe takedown policy is different and could be used as a backup?

Thanks in advance! :)

I have premiumize and from what i've read I can use it as my provider and download nzb files with it's web ui.

I want to get some indexers that have lifetime offers. Which should I start with? I just know of nzbgeek, althub, usenet crawler and nzbplanet. I want to get at least one for now them maybe get more during black friday. Or maybe start with something that's cheap for a year, around $10 to $20 I think there's some with a price range around there(?). What do?

Is a VPN necessary with usenet or not?

I've been with Easynews for 14+ years and seen the price rise to $11.99 pm. As a very infrequent Usenet user I decided to cancel.

Within a few days I got a renewed 'special offer' to remain for $4.99 pm + 3 months free, the email said they had been 'allowed' to offer me this as I was a long term user. I ignored that and a few days later was offered a one-off special 24 hours price of $1.99 pm which I also ignored.

I keep receiving these $1.99 offers occasionally and wondered if this is usual practice amongst other service providers.

I should add Easynews service was always great (which is why I never switched) and I never had any issues, it was just the pricing which finally went outside my budget and I was using it less and less.

Going through my transaction history and email archives I noticed my newsdemon sub went from $3.75 up to $5.75 in May without a notice of increase email being sent out. Obviously not a whole lot of money, but still not cool

I wanted to know what are Usenet equivalent to torrenting cabal private trackers, those very difficult to get in?

I have been contacted lately by couple of redditors that someone is selling "lifetime pass" Tabula Rasa accounts on Facebook, Discord and other social networks. I have started receiving emails with complaints from conned users:

comment : purchased a lifetime pass and unable to log in

Tabula Rasa has no "lifetime pass" or anything similar, we never had and we will never have it, as i have stated numerous times. Also we have closed our registrations and are opening them from time to time for new users to join.

If you are foolish enough to buy an account, or "account" that is on you. Tabula Rasa has nothing to do with that.

We delete accounts that are suspicious and ban users, we do not sell accounts and do not allow users to pay they way into Tabula Rasa.

Regards,

DariusIII

How well do these things do for Usenet processes (decoding, etc)? I want to set up a new station, but would like to avoid buying a new computer if I can.

I recently made the switch to Usenet, previously using only private torrent-sites for my Linux ISO needs. Most of those sites took great pride in not having crappy releases or fake/mislabled ones.

The Usenet Indexers I have been using since making the switch does not seem to have that focus at all? The amount of mislabled(or intentionally fake?) items I have found have gone up a lot(majority is still correct though!).

Is this just the nature of Usenet and its indexers, or have I only been unlucky?

My Indexers so far are:

NZBPlanet

NZBGeek

nzb.su

NinjaCentral

DrunkenSlug

Honest question. I took a look at Usenet.Farm, because I thought about getting a Block account on there backend to fill some blanks. However, after trying out their free trial (10GB of free grabs) I ended up with a whopping 2% article availability.

TWO percent

I had them as a priority 2 provider in sabnzbd yet still this is horrible.

Am I missing something? Are they just not good for certain content but great for other stuff? Really interested in your experience with them.

Hi all,

Wanted to get your opinion on my setup and what I can (if anything) to improve my availability.

Currently have newhosting which gets me 83% of what I have been looking. Can I add another provider to make my results better?

Also, do you think beside geek and DS, anything else will be useful?

I do have 2 blocks as well but they are at 0% atm.

So, i have AstraWeb and Frugal. i've had some issues getting some older stuff, so i decided to go look into it. it looks like first of all my two providers fall under the same backbone which sucks. also though i noticed that Abavia is HW Media which according to the document it's self is also Omnicron. so what am i missing here? i'm just trying to find a second backbone that's different.
