I’ve just finished setting up Jellyfin with my laptop as the media server and streaming directly to my LG G3 via the Jellyfin app. It’s working great so far, and I can play 4K remux movies without any issues.

However, my laptop’s storage is pretty limited, and the only way to expand it is by adding external storage. I’m considering getting an external hard drive to store my remux files, connecting it to my laptop, and configuring Jellyfin to use the external drive as the media source.

My question is: will this setup work smoothly for streaming large 40+GB files, or could the hard drive introduce bottlenecks that might cause lag or stuttering while viewing the content?

PS - I’m not using Wi-Fi. Both my laptop and TV are connected via Ethernet cables for a stable connection.

Laptop specs -

  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS
  • RAM: 32GB
  • GPU: RTX 4060

Hey everyone,

My son's Epic Games account was recently compromised, and he lost access to roughly $600 worth of games. I immediately contacted Epic Games Support and submitted an account recovery request with what I thought was more than enough proof to verify the ownership:

The original Email used for years (the hacker changed it)

The Visa card details used to purchase the games

Access to linked services like LEGO and Nintendo

Despite all this evidence, Epic Games Support is still claiming they're "unable to verify" that he's the rightful owner of the account. I'm beyond frustrated at this point.

Just a tip for everyone who has games on Epic, Steam, etc.: those are not your games, and you can lose them at any time.

At this point, I will just download pirate games in the future.

my father is too old and to ornery to learn anything new, and since he went blind (cataracts, glaucoma, MD) audiobooks have been his only comfort...

I've been sitting at 90% on the entire Captain Aubrey–Steven Maturin series for months; we went to the beach this week and when I came back all 20 books were sitting at 100%

thank you a majillion times you filthy bastard whomever ye are...!

It's a Christmas Miracle...!

You may know it better as the Russel Crowe film: Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Master_and_Commander

So I just wanted to know is the Internet Archive working well and safe now? Haven't heard anything regarding it except the news of it getting taken down a couple of months ago P.S: Autocorrect fucked me over and changed question to questioning, now I can't edit the title

I remember that there were way more sites listed for Direct downloads and Torrents in the "Movies and TV" section of the Megathread. Why is it so small by now?

so basically a few months ago my recommended section in the player has become just a single line with a mix of videos, but I would like to bring back all the different sections that were there like the one that gives you videos from just the channel that you're currently watching, which is the one I'm most interested in.

I can't find the setting for the life of me, anybody has any idea?

using version 25.21 on a firetv btw

I am trying to get a copy of W11 Enterprise IoT LTSC - Massgrave has it, but is there a way to verify that it is safe without being able to compare the hash to an iso from Microsoft?

I have subscribed to almost all streaming sites, but the image quality on those is not really good, for example I own 4k monitor but the shows I want to watch are streamed either on lower resolution or straight up worse image quality, Now with pirating I can simply download the best resolution and the best quality of those movies to fully utilize my monitor potential, the difference is soo huge It's hard to enjoy those shows on streaming sites once you tasted the quality and resolution, anyone else does the same thing?

I don't know if I'm the only one. But since a while for some reason I can't have any subtitles on hurawatch. I have tried this on brave and on Chrome but both have this problem. I watch a lot of Chinese and Korean drama and they aren't always that easy to find on sites with good English sub. Does anyone else have the same problem?

It just clicked. You don’t mean the games I previously purchased on Steam have DRM baked into the game’s files, which is part of the anti-piracy measures they take, right? Please tell me I’m not right. Please tell me that it’s just for cloud save backups and trophies or whatever the hell they’re called.

I tried to go on the kemono site for patreon content and got redirected the french Ministry of the Interior page saying I accessed an illegal child material site (there was absolutely no joke, it's the real thing, the real official message). I read the whole thing, I was terrified. Thank heck, it was written I won't have any repercussions for accidentally accessing to the site.

I believe they logged my IP, but well, I won't go back there anyway. Shoulda brought a VPN.

Anyone knows what happened on that site? Is it because they shared content of problematic patreon creators? Or did they change from piracy to literal crime?

Hey guys, dopebox .to has been my go-to for streaming for ages, been prett consistent and reliable for years. Recently the subtitles have stoppped working and I cant tell any pattern when they sometimes randomly start working again, anyone know why that might be, or have any other alternative websites that r better?
