Disclaimer: been using framer for 10-12 months. Have made ~10 client sites or so. And a few more of my own.

Spent a lot of time with framer and love the general premise and workflow.

But DAMN - they have some of the worst pricing and execution around. Almost anti-consumer.

I have a website with a lot of content (100,000 words or so) and they want to charge $1200+month to get the translation word cap unlimited. Otherwise you’re stuck with 5,000(free) or 50,000($40/mo - no you can’t stack them)

Combine that with the visitor limitations. Lack of CMS export capabilities. And more interest in flashy features (okay, 3D is really cool) but not expanding the core functionality (CMS) or revising pricing policies…. I really don’t know if Framer is a sound option to invest in as a business.

Been wanting to vent for a while. May make a YouTube video too. I’m a framer partner as well - but fuck this. It’s not right.

/endrant.

Original Title: How does the NYT mobile app achieve the scrolling change effect in the linked article? In particular, how the background graphics change as the callouts pass over them. Is it all just HTML, css, and Js?

I've been using Photoshop for web design all my life, even though I know there are other alternatives more targeted to web and UI design rather than general design solutions.

I've decided I want to learn one of these tools. Which one should I choose coming from Photoshop? Figma, XD, Sketch? I'm a Mac user.

What do you guys use?

Recently, when I connect my PC to the Internet to my phone via Wi-Fi hotspot the ping fluctuates, but this problem does not exist with the cable via USB tethering, so is it worth selling my motherboard and spending $20 more And get the motherboard with built in wifi only for wifi and Bluetooth ? Is there a problem with the old Wi-Fi card or it could be fix ? this problem did not exist before .

my current wifi card : tp link wn781nd

my motherboard: H610M-A D4 csm

the motherboard with built in wifi 5 : H610M-A D4 wifi

  • Wifi cards are too expensive in my region due to shipping price ... like an Intel wifi 6 price is same as my current MB ! so please don't tell get a wifi 6 and wifi 5 card not available .

Hey Folks,

I originally created the bash_cli_zt (https://github.com/thedunston/bash_cli_zt) program for self-hosted ZeroTier controllers and now have an early version of a similar program written in Go. It has a CLI and very basic web interface. I've been testing on Windows 11 x64 and Ubuntu 22.04 x64.

I was going to write one in PowerShell, though I decided to use Go for easier maintenance on multiple platforms and I like writing programs in Go now.

https://github.com/thedunston/go_cli_zt

I'm hoping this works for folks and please post any bugs or feature requests on the GitHub page.

I'm putting up a few Empiretech and Dahua cameras around the house, and it occurs to me being alerted when my chickens enter a certain area would be super useful. Currently using Bluecherry which works for my needs outside of the chicken detection. I'd like to avoid simple movement triggers if possible. Any ideas?
