So I feel like I very very rarely identify my race one way or the other, but I notice people often apply labels depending on the whims of the conversation. People are not consistent with how they identify me. Sometimes I'm white and other times I'm not depending on whatever point is trying to be made.

I think it's weird because I was never treated like I was white by the white side of my family. It was always made apparent I wasn't part of that club. And the non white side of my family never treated me like I was white either.

But whenever I try to say I'm not white or relate to a PoC experience, I'm told that I'm "white passing"? Uh, first off, that's incredibly subjective and depends on the group. Yes, I have passed as white at times, but I've also been identified as PoC many times, both positively and negatively.

White passing? Sure wish that unhinged vet threatening my life while calling me a sand n*gger knew I was white passing. Boy, would he have been embarrassed.

Really feels like that Aesop fable with the birds and the beasts going to war. The birds ask what the bat is, and the bat says he's a beast. The beasts ask what he is, and he says a bird. This way he doesn't fight in the war, but he's not accepted by either group after they make peace.

Except in my case, nobody asks what I am, they just tell me I'm the other group lol.

Even my partner (pure blooded "legitimate" PoC) does this shit. Always tells me I'm basically White, but after Trump got elected, she said she was scared for my safety with the increase in racism in the country. I'm like, why? Shouldn't I blend in just fine?

Idk, this post got long. These people got me tilted, and I don't know where to post this.

Surprisingly, Ertl was the daughter of a Nazi propagandist who had fled to Bolivia. She was raised surrounded by her family's Nazi friends, such as Gestapo chief Klaus Barbie, aka the "Butcher of Lyon", who British director Kevin Macdonald alleges orchestrated Guevara's murder.

Monika cut ties with her fascist family and grew closer to the Communist cause. She was deeply moved by Che Guevara's assassination in 1967 which led to her joining the National Liberation Army of Bolivia (ELN), which Che headed prior to his death.

Under her new nom de guerre, “Imilla”, she worked with Che's former comrades to hunt down his killer. In 1971, Monika arrived in the German city of Hamburg, where she looked for Pereira, who was working at the Bolivian Consulate.

Monika gunned down Che's killer with three shots to the chest. As she escaped, she left behind her purse, a wig, a revolver, and a piece of paper with the words "Victory or Death - ELN".

The killing was soon linked to her and the US-backed Bolivian dictatorship put a $20,000 bounty on her head. However, Monika successfully returned to Bolivia with more targets on her mind, including her family's Nazi friends.

In 1973, after several days of surveillance, CIA trained special units ambushed and murdered Monika in the capital city of La Paz. Her body was never found. Monika was dubbed “the avenger of Che”, a name that made headlines around the world.

A legend tells of a test where Muramasa challenged his master, Masamune, to see who could make a finer sword. They both worked tirelessly, and when both swords were finished, they decided to test the results. The contest was for each to suspend the blades in a small creek with the cutting edge facing against the current. Muramasa's sword, the Juuchi Yosamu (十千夜寒, "10,000 Cold Nights") cut everything that passed its way; fish, leaves floating down the river, the very air which blew on it. Highly impressed with his pupil's work, Masamune lowered his sword, the Yawarakai-Te (柔らかい手, "Tender Hands"), into the current and waited patiently. Only leaves were cut. However, the fish swam right up to it, and the air hissed as it gently blew by the blade. After a while, Muramasa began to scoff at his master for his apparent lack of skill in the making of his sword. Smiling to himself, Masamune pulled up his sword, dried it, and sheathed it. All the while, Muramasa was heckling him for his sword's inability to cut anything. A monk, who had been watching the whole ordeal, walked over and bowed low to the two swordmasters. He then began to explain what he had seen.

"The first of the swords was by all accounts a fine sword, however, it is a blood-thirsty, evil blade, as it does not discriminate as to who or what it will cut. It may just as well be cutting down butterflies as severing heads. The second was by far the finer of the two, as it does not needlessly cut that which is innocent and undeserving."

I was drunk and I turned around and he's just standing there and idk I just went blank. Called him pig a bunch, someone told me to stop and I did, but wowee.

Feel bad that I definitely made some people uncomfortable, but I mean who the fuck shows up the bar like that.

I'll find out if I got myself banned in a couple days. Would be a shame, was making friends there. But if I got banned for telling a cop to eat shit then I guess that's cooler than being a regular nuisance.

For context I'm in a large American city that has seen some shit, so it might be fine after an apology to some of the people that had to listen to it. The bartender thought it was funny

Starting this up right now.

Also, you can start listening from A Game Of Thrones onward right over here.

Don't forget to read Dunk & Egg.

I don't know whether or not I should watch House of the Dragon. I hated the Game of Thrones TV show (much prefer the books) and I'm afraid that it will be just as bad (and just as overrated).
