Kobra 3 Combo vs A1 Combo vs P1S Combo

PS1 combo preferred for enclosure, up to 16 colors, more materials and core xy. Cons are price and nozzle swapping is a pain which can be solved with third party parts.

Kobra 3 Combo has up to 8 colors and that quickest nozzle swapping. Cons are Many reviews are negative on this system but newer ones make me believe things have gotten better. Support is supposedly almost non existent and relies on the community. Also needing tinkering more than the others.

A1 Combo has a decent speed for nozzle swapping and max of 4 colors. Cons are exposed filament spools.

I want multicolor printing. I can make due for 4 colors since I am a hobbyist and not trying to make money (not yet at least). My daughter is getting into it at school and it gives something for her to spend time with me. I have an Ender 3 Pro, but I loathe the tinkering and troubleshooting. I plant to upgrade it little by little . I would like to not have to deal with "poop" but I am not aware if any slicer can convert it all into a secondary print with any of the above systems (I would just print fidget toys or something stupid to use up the poop). Nozzle swapping most likely wouldn't happen often since the .4 nozzle is standard, but sometimes you want that finer detail on something you put up for display.

Other recommendations that fall in this range is also appreciated.

Thank you

I got my first 3D printer, the Sidewinder X1, during the 2020 lockdown. It was a fun hobby, and I upgraded many parts, for example, swapping out the hotend, adding a 3d touch, switching to a PEI bed, and installing Klipper, etc. I love tinkering, but at times, it felt like I was spending more time tuning than actually printing anything functional.

Fast forward to now: the Sidewinder has been sitting unused since 2022 because of a weird issue I never troubleshot. Fixing it would cost some money, and I’m debating whether it’s worth putting the effort into modding and upgrading the X1 or just starting fresh with a new printer.

Recently, I got interested in the hobby again and found some printers that look interesting—the Bambulab A1 Mini for €200 and the A1 for €350. From what I’ve read, these printers seem all-around better than the X1, even with upgrades.

So, what do you think? Should I invest in fixing the Sidewinder or go for one of the Bambulab options? Thank you all in advance!

Hey everyone, I'm new to 3d printing/modelling and found this print (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4624605) which I'd like to adapt the port size (decreasing the diameter of the hole). I tried uploading into blender, but when going into edit mode there's too many vertices for me to just select the edge loop and scale it down.

Is there any easy way to do this? Any help or links to tutorial videos would be much appreciated.

TIA!

Recently was given an early christmas present pc filament from a friend, now i have zero experience with printing with pc filament. Ive heard its toxic and can produce fumes like abs but how bad is it. I do have a bento box in my bambu lab p1s but not sure if i would need something better? (I live in an apartment so full ventilation will be hard)

Hey, who are your favorite patreon .STL creators? I've had very good success with Bulkamancer (love this patreon STL files - everything just works + presupported files are usually great). At the other hand H3LL creator in my opinion doesnt work out for me, sometimes I'm thinking that these files are not meant to be 3D printed, it's just a pain in the ass to print some of their figures... Who would you reccomend?
