Got my 3D printer for Christmas and after the painful set up things have been decently smooth. There were a lot of bumps in the road for my first build as far as software choices, still trying to figure out the best cheapest options. I’ve had the printer running almost constantly and I’m waiting for my first major fail. I don’t really know much at all because I had no clue I was going to receive this and I’m sure at some point something’s going to go wrong that will drive me nuts. What problems have you ran into that were frustrating but you eventually figured out the problem and now it feels like common knowledge?

Any tips for softwares & maintenance? I used shaper3d and cura for splicing. Didn’t know free version would make my prints low quality until I was in too deep :(

I am not very crafty but was wondering what the process looked like of turning an object I already own into something I can 3d print. For example: Maybe I was want to replace a broken piece on my sodastream or coffee maker etc.

Where would I start what would I do? Sorry if a bit vague.
