It genuinely is getting better. I like the kind of garage rebel feel of it, pretty fun- really reminds me of reddit's early days, but all good things must come to an end, and even if Lemmy does take off, it will meet the same fate inevitably.

This I disagree with. Porn has always been widely available throughout human history, it just wasn't as widely openly available and distributed as today. Case in point, my grandfather died in Vietnam back in '63, all of his barracks stuff went into a box that was sent home. My grandmother never opened it, to the extent it was still sealed with navy tape from the 60's. When she died, my father didn't even know it was in the attic.

When he passed back in '15, I was cleaning out this attic and found the box. Ontop some actually really cool shit- you guessed it, I found a literal shitload of vintage porn. Grampy was dropping loads left and right with these bitches. A LOT of hair back in the day I might add.

In a lot of ways, I’m happy to hear this. A lot of communities will thrive without the intervention of a central power.

Some communities will become toxic, and it will be up to the individual to figure out whether that’s for them or not- but at least they have a choice.

/r/fatpeoplehate inspired me to lose 135 LB. It wasn’t a bad subreddit.

Granted /r/coonworld /r/chimpout we’re both…Jesus Christ… but at least even the most vile of people had a voice.

This reminds me of when, during the building and development of the Apollo program- electrical engineers were tasked with effectively creating the "software" of the guidance system, and when one of the lead developers told his wife "I'm working on the software for the rocket" She replied "We're not going to tell people that you're working in underpants."

I really liked the smaller subreddits too, but they've all been going down hill for the last several years. You can't say shit on reddit without a good chance of being banned from either that subreddit, or reddit in general. So, fuck it.

Well, I'm talking about the days before platinum. Like, when a gold award was only $5. I gave out several and got several. It was pretty cool. Then.

Ohioan here- Not even remotely surprised. Outside of the normal, ya know- "fuck you" "no, fuck you" Ohio/PA shit, I really feel like western PA has turned into northern WV. PA is a beautiful state populated almost entirely by assholes.

Go browns.

Someday, I'm going to have a girl friend, as strong and physically intimidating as my hamster, Jean Philiep. Until then, I guess I'll invite friends @_@

I remember back in like, 2013 when getting gold was actually really cool, or maybe it was just me so easily made happy at that point.

I've never followed the updated bullshit with the awards that came out thereafter. It was right around the time reddit really turned to shit.

Anyways, I guess it was inevitable.

That was like, half the reason I used reddit, lol. Otherwise it's just a shithole full of "aHkshUaly" people.

Take your clothes off, or give me something actually interesting and insightful to read, or fuck right off.
