Jay Graber wrongly said you needed to be 18 to use Bluesky, when the actual age limit is 13.

Wtf is this article, seriously. Was this paid for by Elon? If so, money well spent lol

Wtf is this shitty journalism?

When asked directly what the age limit was on Bluesky, Ms Graber said: "When you sign up - I’ll have to check - I think it’s like 18 and above."

How the hell do you figure that's "they said you need to be 18"? That's "I think it's 18, but I need to check." 🙄

I mean... Ooooh sick news gotcha, didn't have a detail right, who cares?

It is sort of important to know if you do or do not have children on your service.

So over 13 they kick you off?

I've never used Twitter or Facebook or that kind of social network.
So I can't say if the user experience is worse or better.
However there are a couple of functions I can't find that puzzle me. For instance I can't get a list of the people I subscribe to, to quickly view their content. But there's a list for the hashtags?
I also can't see what the meaning is for the interests i checked off when opening the account. These keywords do not appear anywhere I can see in my account.
This means that if my wife see something interesting, she can't say from what subscription it came to her feed, to make a similar subskription.
Also I couldn't find my wife when searching for her, but she could find me?
The FAQ doesn't answer these questions that I can see.
It seems a bit rough IMO, but I guess it's nice enough. And the fact that there is zero noise from either bots or advertising is absolutely stellar.

One of the left side (on a desktop browser) menu headings is 'Lists'. Click that, create a new one called whatever you like. You can then add people to that list.

Not quite the same thing but close - and more discerning maybe. There's also a 'following' header which is literally exactly what you're after.

The key concept you want to look into is feeds. They're as, if not more important than hashtags. There's a feed called Following which is all posts from people you subscribe to.

Seems to me hashtag and feed is the same thing on bluesky. There is a hashtag symbol together with the feeds option on the left side menu.
I have no problem watching my subscribed channels collectively, what I can't do is single them out individually.

Feeds are aggregators that show you posts that fulfill certain criteria, such as mentioning keywords (which can include but is not limited to hashtags). They're a lot more versatile than just hashtags. I can't tell you why they chose the # symbol to represent feeds ┐( ∵ )┌

On your profile you have a following count, that's where you'll find a list of people you follow.

Thanks, that's what I was looking for. 👍 😀
