A tar.gz is just a compressed archive just like a .zip or a .rar. The second file extension idicates the compression alghorithm used. Gz is for gzip, bz2 is for bzip2 etc... You can just right click and press extract. If the option isn't here, open a terminal where the file is located and enter : tar -xf "filename"
