I don't understand. How is someone who promotes rights, liberties, and democracy getting pissed off at someone else exercising those rights?

Russian and Chinese bots are pushing these talking points on here because they want to create instability.

These same talking points are made frequently in the Russian and Chinese communities here on lemmy.

This post translates to: “you aren’t rioting and burning buildings like we want! You are cowards!”

I agree with you. Every time I see someone mention progressive or liberal on here it's always referring to them in a right-leaning context. Seems like an effort to destabilize the meaning of a word to cause confusion.
